Cupcake Obsession!

I do believe I am obsessed with CUPCAKES!  I constantly look on-line for great recipes and try them out and subject Jarom, Wrynly and other family members to taste tests.  So far my favorite are the "Olive oil, lemon and thyme cake with Balsamic Vinegar whipped cream frosting", I got recipe from Cupcake Project... but that might be because of my pregnancy tastes, not a lot of others have liked them as much as me! 

This pic is of "S'mores cupcakes"... though the taste was amazing, the chocolate cake recipe used from Glorious Treats didn't turn out great for me. They bubbled over and stuck really bad to the cupcake liner.  Same with a few other vanilla and white cake recipes I have found. I'm on a mission to find the perfect flavor and texture!!  Mmmmm... can't get enough. I want to try crazy flavors and fun flavors, all and any kinds! I want to eat them up since when this baby gets here (in less than 11 weeks!!) I will give them up to get a hot bod again.

So, who wants to join me in the cupcake baking/eating/loving frenzy for the next few weeks??

Fun day with Mauri

Time for catch-up! Wednesday the 15th, Mauri came by and took Wrynly to the Tree House Museum for a fun day of dress up, coloring, playing music, reading and just being goofy. I sure needed a break and catch up on my work and Wrynly had fun with Mauri. Thank you sister!

Busy weekend



We had a fun and busy weekend! Jarom got off work early on Friday and we got to eat pizza and hang out and play with him for a long time before bed.  My dad and Machel took Wrynly overnight on Saturday so Jarom and I could have a date night.  It just so happened to be my mom's birthday, so we had KFC dinner and dessert at her house with Bill, Kyle & Jewels, and the boys (Marcus and Parker).  It was great to see my mom in high spirits and in no pain!  We joked around and teased mom about getting old, teased the boys about kissing girls before turning 16 and their awesome (lol) dance skills.  While this was going on, my dad and Machel were having to put in ear-plugs to block out the happy screams Wrynly emitted while playing at the Kangaroo Zoo with Paxton.  They said they wore her right out!  Since she spent the night, Jarom and I went to bed early... we couldn't keep our eyes open past 9:00!  Sunday rolled around and we slept in! PHEW! It was nice but our house felt empty and quiet without girlie giggles and chatter.  We spent the day playing World of Warcraft in silence, much needed peaceful time!

Sunday night we ate dinner at my dad's for his birthday... that was in December! Better late than never, I say.  We had fondue and a chocolate fountain with fruit to dip... I was by that most of the night!!  We got my dad an indoor/outdoor basketball because he started playing basketball at the church in the mornings!

Monday, today, I had my Glucola test at the doctor's office to make sure I don't have gestational diabetes, Jarom got his cavity filled at the dentist, then we spent the day out on the road, stopping at different places to get a new twin mattress set, bed sheets, and bed frame for Wrynly.  We moved her crib into the baby's room and got her set up with her new "big girl" bed.  Phew! Long day and I'm in much need of rest time!

Wrynly let me braid her hair today! She left it in for a few hours before the elastic was torn out and her kinked hair was standing up all over the place.  We stayed home and played with Milo out in the back yard.  Milo would stare off into space then Wrynly would screech at him and he'd jump, startled. She giggled her little guts out, she thought it was so funny!

Dentist

Yesterday our whole family went to the dentist for a check up. While I had an awesome visit with no cavities (Dr. Grua loves my teeth... he says they are so strong and beautiful because I didn't get my first tooth until I was almost 1 year old!).  Jarom had one cavity, not fun for him. For Wrynly, this was her first time. I warned Dr. Grua that she would scream but he said that was okay and he was used to it with little kids. He just had her ride the chair up and down, then tried to look at her teeth to count them.  She loved the chair and was so excited to get a new toothbrush with Winnie the Pooh on it. She screamed bloody murder and didn't want to cooperate with getting her teeth counted. At least he got a good peak at how many she has while she screamed!

I took Wrynly to the grocery store while Jarom napped. She was actually good for me since I brought her a baggie of treats and a sippy cup of milk.  I got everything we needed for the week. I came home and made some Crockpot Freezer Meals I saw on Pinterest (check it out!).  I got done just in time for Mauri to come over. We  had a "Spa" day (well I should say I did, since Mauri did all the work) where she deep conditioned and trimmed my hair, and dyed and waxed my eyebrows.  She also brought me new shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner so my hair won't be so "skanky" as I like to say.  She takes good care of me! Before she came over, all my ends were split... I even found one that had about 10 frays in it. 

I was so disgusted/shocked I tried to take a picture. Now my hair is healthy and split-end-free! Thanks Mauri!!

Super Bowl XLVI

 Though Wrynly's been a stinker lately, we visited my parents for a Super Bowl party yesterday. Bill always has the most delicious food ready and waiting and mom, Mauri and Marcus love playing with Wrynly.  Mauri touched up Wrynly's fingernails, Marcus carried her around and played with her, and since mom's hip was hurting, Wrynly laid in bed next to her and the kitty to watch Finding Nemo. 

 Her cousins came over and of course she had to hold the "baby" because she loves babies! Emmary was a cutie and let Wrynly hold her.  Jarom chilled on the couch and rooted for no one in particular. We had to leave at half time because Wrynly was so naughty! She went right to bed when we got home. We finished watching the New York Giants win 21-17 then went to bed early ourselves. That girl sure wears us out!

Slacker

So, I'm going to blame pregnancy-brain and tiredness to my lack of blogging. I've been going to bed every night at 8:30 pm with Jarom (since he gets up early to go work out), and yet I still seem to be exhausted in the morning! Does it have something to do with getting up every hour just to pee? I think so.  Also, Wrynly has been a princess PITA this week... waking up early, not taking naps, being whiny, and starting to throw little tantrums. Terrible twos came early! Hopefully this week will be better, though it's starting off just the same.
